The BUILD program provides the opportunity to develop an individual’s leadership, entrepreneurial and team building skills while increasing their value to their organization and to the greater community. Opportunities to become involved include, becoming a mentor, becoming a mentee or joining the BUILD Council. We have established exciting yet challenging goals and look forward to your involvement! BUILD Mentors have a one-on-one mentoring relationship with a program participant for the purpose of education and impartation regarding greater leadership skills. Mentors commit to spend approximately one hour per month with a mentee for a period of one year.
To become a BUILD Mentor, simply complete an application and submit it to Matthew Avery. Mentors are also asked to read and sign a working agreement, and to complete an evaluation form at the conclusion of the relationship. Of course, a mentoring bond can continue past BUILD’s parameters and we hope it will!
“I find myself either thinking of or using his advice on a daily basis. Having a mentor relationship has given me focus, increased confidence through his support, and because of his positive attitude, real motivation to succeed.”
“My mentor has allowed me to ask very pointed questions about business practices and he has offered his perspective on how to improve.”
“ I joke about giving my “testimonial” for mentorships, but I feel it’s one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. It’s the kind of experience that not only helps me in my day-to-day decisions but also helps to mold me to be the best person I can be in the future.”
