At-A-Glance
Leadership Walton, sponsored by the Walton Area Chamber, is a regional community leadership program founded in 2000.
Mission
To provide the foundation for a lifelong commitment to leadership by creating awareness of key issues that affect the Walton region and to challenge emerging and existing community leaders to bring about positive change in the community through informed leadership.
Participants
Approximately 25 individuals annually participate in the program representing a cross section of the community including:

Requirements
Participants must have full support of the corporation or organization they represent. Attendance at the Opening Retreat and session is mandatory (participants can miss only two sessions). Those who fail to fulfill the attendance requirements will not graduate. The commitment is 12 full days over 9 months, attendance of two county commission or city council meetings, and a one day trip to Tallahassee during the legislative session.

Participants have the unique opportunity to experience a new relationship with an assigned community leader as their mentor. Over 50 community leaders through BUILD (BUILDing You in Leadership Development) support the professional and personal development of Leadership Walton,
Emerging Leaders member, and
Youth Leadership participants.
Tuition
Tuition is $1,000 per person for Walton Area Chamber members ($1,500 for non-chamber members). A limited number of partial scholarships are available.
